Anya Goodman, Ph.D. (she/her/hers)
Project Leader/PI, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Cal Poly
I have been teaching biochemistry and chemistry at Cal Poly since 2005. I got my B.S. in Biological Sciences from Florida Atlantic University in 1996 and my Ph.D. from MIT in 2001. I am passionate about Course-Based Undergraduate Research Experiences (CUREs), and I am an active member of two CURE faculty communities: GEP and BASIL.
Andrea Somoza-Norton, Ed.D. (she/her/hers)

Since 2015, I have been teaching in the masters of Educational Leadership program at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. I graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with an B.A. in Education and M.S. in Information Technology in Education, and received an Ed.D from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell in educational leadership. I enjoy teaching research method courses (qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods). For the past 7 years, I have supervised over 120 M.S. students' action research projects and poster presentations. Periodically, I train graduate and undergraduate research assistants to conduct individual and focus group interviews, and text/content analysis. As a former Spanish, English as a Second Language, Computer Education teacher, high school administrator, and New Hampshire Department of Education Title III state director, I have assisted English Learner students and managed large state and federally funded initiatives. As an immigrant, native Spanish speaker, and non-traditional first-generation student, I have an unique understanding of underrepresented and minoritized students.
Dan Bachrach, Ph. D.
Dr. Daniel (Dan) Bachrach is an Elected Fellow of the American Psychological Associate (APA), Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP), and the Association for Psychological Science (APS). Dan is a Full Professor of Management, and a Morrow Faculty Excellence Fellow. He has published more than 60 research articles, his work regularly appears in the field’s most elite scholarly journals, including Organization Science, The Strategic Management Journal, the Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, the Journal of Management, and the Journal of Operations Management, among others, and according to Google Scholars, his work has been cited more than eighteen thousand times to-date. Dan is an Associate Editor at the Journal of Organizational Behavior (Impact Factor 5.97), is a recognized expert in several academic areas, including task structure, Transactive Memory Systems in teams, and leadership. Dan teaches the mass, Introduction to Management sections of Organizational Theory and Behavior in the Culverhouse College of Business, as well as the First-Year MBA Leadership course in the MBA core, in the Manderson Graduate School of Business at the University of Alabama.

I am an incoming second year at Cal Poly majoring in History with a minor in Ethnic Studies. I am also a mentor for the Cal Poly Scholars program where I assist first-generation, low income, and/or underrepresented students build a solid social and academic foundation in their first year.

I am an incoming third-year Public Health major, passionate about all things education and health. During the academic year, I work as a science workshop facilitator with Cal Poly’s Supplemental Workshops in Science.
